Our 3rd Meteor meetup in Ho Chi Minh City was a blast! Thanks to Mr. Hung Vo CEO of Designveloper for his generous sponsorship which made the event successful.

The goal of this meetup was to continue with more in-depth Meteor problems as well as dig into the next UX/UI generation for web development and run through Javascript memory optimization. For those of you who couldn’t make it, here are the recordings:

Everyone raised questions after the presentation ended.

Then all of the guests were involved in an exciting game named “Catch That Words” within 15 minutes. Those who answer the correct word received our gifts.

Went back to the second presentation, we were very delighted to welcome 2 of our guests, Dai Tran, and Anh Nguyen, who brought to us an informative topic: JavaScript Memory Optimizing

The final topic was related to Meteor Deep Dive: React Programming Tracker, presented by Khang Nguyen.

This talk walked through the usefulness of Tracker in Meteor application and dived deep into its source code to show how the magic happens. Khang did a very good job in his professional manner.

The last part of our meetup seemed to be the most expected one because all attendees had an equal chance to get free tech gifts.

Our system selected the two luckiest guys who checked in at Designveloper by random.

The meetup ended with some interesting casual chats sharing knowledge and experience in web development in general and in using Meteor in particular.

WHAT WE GOT

We got some positive and contributive feedback from our guests.
James – a Manager Director – said that our presenters had delivered good informative topics and had a deeper explanation for each question. He also expressed he would love to come to our next meetup.

We had a short interview with Toan, a developer. He found the meetup quite helpful and interesting. There is no doubt that Toan will see us again at the upcoming events.

Besides, the number of participants was much more than the number we had planned.

It was a pity that there was some chaos in the organization.

That’s why we also received some complaints about inconvenient seats and some invaluable advice on how to improve the quality of meetup. We are sincerely concerned and apologize that we fell short of your expectations in some areas. We highly appreciated all of your feedback and will use it to evaluate changes and make improvements in our next events.

As usual, the hard work starts again when we all return home and get back to actually executing our plans and working through all of the challenges that we each face. The good news is we will all be getting back together face-to-face in September.

Just like a young talent developer – Phuc Nguyen said: “All of us are always learning, all of us is the difference”. It would be our pleasure to have you as a presenter sharing advice for the next meetup.

We will have 2 other blogs for 2 topics of the meetup for you to easily follow. But now just have a look at slides of these topics:

  • Javascript Memory Optimizing, by Dai Tran and Anh Nguyen
  • Is Motion the next UX/UI generation for web development?
